Welcome to my blog. My name is Matthew Smucker. I’m the national field organizer for the War Resisters League, and I’ve been working on social justice issues for about 15 years. I titled this blog Organizing Notes because in my organizing work I often write myself little notes for future reference, but then I lose them. Technically I still have lots of the notes – in old journals, in old publications and on little scraps of paper, all boxed up somewhere. I’ll be digging up and consolidating some old stuff and I hope that this blog will motivate me to write more new stuff. And hopefully some of it may serve as a small contribution to a larger conversation on social movement organizing strategy.
